Statement of Faith – We Teach Bible
At We Teach Bible, we are committed to fostering faithful, historical, and biblically grounded teaching. We affirm the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture, following the principles outlined in the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy.
We recognize that this is a community of Bible teachers from different Christian traditions, and we value the diversity of experiences and insights that come with that. However, in this space, we are committed to upholding a shared foundation: the faithful teaching of Scripture with a commitment to its inerrancy, sufficiency, and authority.
The Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture
We affirm that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God in its original manuscripts. It is the final authority for faith and practice, wholly truthful in all it affirms. As stated in the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy:
"Holy Scripture, being God’s own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches."
Thus, all teaching and instruction at We Teach Bible must be rooted in the faithful exposition of Scripture, without compromise or distortion.
The Sufficiency of Scripture
We believe that God’s Word is sufficient for instructing believers in all matters of faith, life, and doctrine. As Paul states:
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
We reject any view that subordinates, distorts, or diminishes the teaching of Scripture in favor of cultural trends or human traditions.
The Role of Teachers in Biblical Faithfulness
Bible teachers have a sacred responsibility to handle the Word of God with reverence, accuracy, and doctrinal integrity. As affirmed in the Chicago Statement:
"The authority of Scripture is inescapably impaired if this total divine inerrancy is in any way limited or disregarded, or made relative to a view of truth contrary to the Bible’s own."
We encourage all teachers in our community to:
- Teach with precision – faithfully expositing Scripture in its historical, grammatical, and theological context.
- Uphold sound doctrine – affirming the foundational truths of the gospel, the deity of Christ, salvation by grace alone, and the resurrection.
- Guard against error – rejecting false teachings that undermine biblical truth or lead others away from the historic Christian faith.
While we may come from different theological backgrounds, this community is centered on the shared commitment to the absolute truth and authority of Scripture.
Commitment to Biblical Integrity
As a community of Bible educators, we affirm:
- The inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of Scripture.
- The gospel of Jesus Christ as the only means of salvation.
- The historical reliability of the biblical accounts.
- The need for faithful and doctrinally sound teaching.
We reject any teaching that:
- Denies the full truthfulness of Scripture.
- Undermines the sufficiency of God’s Word.
- Prioritizes human opinion over divine revelation.
Our Call to Bible Teachers
We invite all educators in our community to teach the Bible with conviction, clarity, and faithfulness to the historic Christian faith. May our teaching equip believers, strengthen the church, and glorify God through His revealed Word.
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
